Ukraine Tests StarGate Drone for Battlefield Medical Evacuations Ukrainian defense technology company SkyFall has developed an aerial medical evacuation drone named StarGate, designed to rescue wounded soldiers from the battlefield. The drone can carry a weighted stretcher simulating a wounded soldier and has a one-way range of 15 kilometers, allowing it to reach critically injured troops in areas known as the 'kill zone.' This innovative drone could significantly reduce evacuation times from hours to minutes, providing timely medical assistance. The StarGate drone was demonstrated in a field test and has been handed over to a combat brigade for further evaluation under frontline conditions. It utilizes advanced technology, including AI and satellite communication, to operate effectively in challenging environments. The initiative stemmed from a military request to improve the safety and efficiency of evacuating wounded soldiers from hard-to-reach positions. The performance of the drone in actual combat situations remains to be confirmed. 5 sources 34
