A radio reconnaissance system mounted on a drone has been tested in France - Оборонка

The American-Estonian company Sky Spy has integrated the SkyAgent 001 radio reconnaissance system onto the Sky Mantis 2 drone of the British company Evolve Dynamics and successfully tested the complex during the French military exercises GALENE. This is reported by Defence Blog.

The training was organized by the French Cyber Defense Command.

Sky Spy describes the SkyAgent 001 as a compact SIGINT (Signals Intelligence) system capable of operating without GPS and constant operator intervention. The system independently detects, collects and processes data on radio emission sources.

According to the companies, the complex was able to detect, classify, and determine the coordinates of all priority radiation sources in the exercise scenario, which took place in a difficult electromagnetic environment.

" We have gone from concept to live demonstrations in less than two years and are now supporting European armed forces with systems shaped by lessons from Ukraine ," said Arsenii Hurtavtsov , CEO of Sky Spy.

In turn, Evolve Dynamics CEO Tom Redman reported that the companies combined combat experience gained in Ukraine with the capabilities of integrating new technologies into unmanned platforms.

" Through joint trials led from our Kyiv facility and recent NATO demonstrations, we've integrated advanced electronic sensing capabilities onto our platforms, enabling operators to detect and locate hostile RF activity, including drone operators and jammers ," said Redman.

According to Redman, the system integration has provided the military with a new level of battlefield situational awareness when operating in challenging conditions.

The head of the GCEM unit of the French Cyber Defense Command, Lieutenant Colonel Elie Fontana, said that the system has significant potential for tactical control of the electromagnetic spectrum in modern military operations.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian company UNWAVE presented a new BASHUR complex for detecting FPV drones. The system can intercept both analog and digital signals of drones and integrate with suppression means.
