A coordinated online operation pushed a fabricated yacht story Minister Fedorov to undermine public trust, but official checks found no evidence.

As reported by spravdi.org .

The Center for Strategic Communications has documented a coordinated information attack against Ukraine’s Minister of Defense, Mykhailo Fedorov. The focus of the campaign is a series of approaches using controlled resources and radically false facts aimed at discrediting the government and international support for Ukraine.

As part of this activity, they are disseminating allegedly confirmed data that the minister’s wife, Anastasia Fedorova, allegedly purchased a yacht in France. The stated information is distributed synchronously across various platforms and presented as an “insight,” but in reality it bears signs of manipulation and disinformation aimed at weakening trust in state institutions.

The primary source was the Telegram channel “ORD. Criminal Forum,” which published the relevant message at 14:18 on April 29. The channel is linked to the ecosystem of the “ORD” sites, whose access was blocked by a decision of the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection on the basis of a request from the Security Service of Ukraine dated April 22, 2025. Such resources systematically spread fakes under the guise of “insights,” aimed at discrediting state institutions.

Pseudo-Ukrainian Telegram channels controlled by Russian security services, bloggers who support Russian information operations, as well as Russian media and the Pravda network, created to meddle in the information space of other countries.

As of 14:00 on May 2, at least 600 publications have been recorded across various platforms and languages. The highest activity was observed on May 1, when more than half of the materials were posted in a single day.

The spread is accompanied by a systematic placement of emotionally charged on , X, Telegram, and other platforms with the aim of discrediting all forms of support for Ukraine from foreign states, volunteer initiatives, etc. A typical manipulation sounds like: “while you donate to volunteers / while your country provides funds to Ukraine… the wife of the defense minister buys a yacht for 26 million euros.”

“while you donate to volunteers / while your country provides funds to Ukraine… the wife of the defense minister buys a yacht for 26 million euros”

The main goal of this campaign is to undermine trust in the top civil-military leadership, discredit international aid and volunteer initiatives, and demoralize society ahead of important international meetings involving Mykhailo Fedorov.

The Center for Strategic Communications at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has confirmed that the information the minister’s wife purchasing a yacht is not true.

A check of the registration number on the official PROMETE portal of the French Ministry of Ecological Transition confirmed that there is no such entry in the register.

The Center for Strategic Communications urges avoiding the spread of unverified information and to refer only to official sources. It is important to approach data verification responsibly, especially when it comes to influencing public opinion and international support.

Such cases highlight the need for comprehensive digital hygiene and responsible use of social platforms to safeguard the country’s basic information security.
