Beaverton man sentenced to 21 years in prison sexually exploiting multiple children online

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A Beaverton man will spend more than 21 years in federal prison for sexually exploiting multiple children online and possessing thousands of images of child sexual abuse material.

Misael Flores Ramirez, 35, was sentenced to 262 months in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release, according to the US Attorney’s Office in Oregon.

Investigators said Ramirez contacted a 12-year-old girl from April to September 2023 after meeting her on the social media app Wink. During that time, investigators say Ramirez sent the child more than 30 sexually explicit images and videos of himself and asked for explicit images from her.

Authorities said he received more than 30 images of child sexual abuse material and threatened to stop communicating with the girl if she did not continue sending images.

A of Ramirez’s cellphone uncovered more than 2,000 images of child sexual abuse material and evidence that he had contacted other children, according to court documents.

Between February and March 2023, Ramirez also asked for and received sexually explicit images from a 14-year-old girl, investigators said. He later shared those images and videos with multiple users on Telegram.

Investigators say Ramierz used WhatsApp and Telegram chatrooms dedicated to trading child sexual abuse material to obtain and distribute images of minors.

A federal grand jury in Portland indicted Ramirez on Sept. 10, 2024, on five counts, including sexual exploitation of children, transfer of obscene material to a minor, and distributing, receiving and possessing child pornography.

Ramirez pleaded guilty Sept. 18, 2025, to sexual exploitation of children and receipt of child pornography.
