Back Sg.Finance.Yahoo Boustead Singapore says overseas business unit 'subject of' cybersecurity incident
The group says no other part of the group was affected and there has been no significant and material impact to the group's business operations.
One of Boustead Singapore's overseas business units faced a cybersecurity incident, announced the group on Sept 18.
The unit had "immediately activated its business continuity procedures, engaged external cyber incident response specialists, legal advisers and restoration providers and implemented containment measures, including shutting down and isolating affected systems" upon learning of the incident.
Boustead adds that the unit has already conducted a full investigation and has notified the Personal Data Protection Commission in Singapore and other authorities in the affected jurisdictions.
The group says no other part of the group was affected and there has been no significant and material impact to the group's business operations. The unit's critical systems and business data have also since been fully recovered from its backups. There was no material disruption to its business.
Boustead adds that it will conduct an "independent cybersecurity review to identify further opportunities for enhancing its cybersecurity programme to improve resilience of its systems".
Shares in Boustead Singapore closed 1 cent higher or 0.56% up at $1.80 on Sept 18.
