Chief Telecom (6561.TW) announced today (30th) a partnership with Google Cloud (GOOG) to integrate international submarine cable resources and deploy Cross-Site Interconnect (CSI) technology, officially launching its "Multi-Route Protection Service," targeting enterprises, financial institutions, and government agencies with an uninterrupted, high-digital-resilience secure network solution.

In recent years, submarine cable disruptions in surrounding waters have occurred frequently, sounding alarm bells for Taiwan's critical infrastructure. Shao further revealed that Chief Telecom successfully obtained Google Verified Peering Provider (VPP) Gold certification at the end of last year, signifying that the company's stable network infrastructure connectivity and backup facilities have received rigorous validation and high recognition from the global technology leader, cementing its position as Taiwan's strategic network hub. This certification enables enterprises to establish direct peering with Google's global network backbone more efficiently, significantly enhancing cloud service performance and reliability.

Chief Telecom explained that by leveraging Google's globally distributed submarine cable network combined with Chief Telecom's advantages as Taiwan's telecommunications strategic hub, the newly launched Multi-Route Protection Service offers three core features.

First, it combines Google's global network with Chief Telecom's Asia backbone exceeding 1,200 Gb, featuring mesh dynamic routing and optimized scheduling. The underlying layer automatically detects failures and completes automatic rerouting within milliseconds in the event of a disconnection, mitigating the risk of single submarine cable failures.

Second, it provides SLA (Service Level Agreement) availability guarantees exceeding 99.95%, ensuring clients remain completely unaffected during repair transition periods. It also delivers cost efficiency and flexible bandwidth—enterprises no longer need to pay for expensive self-built multi-route backup infrastructure to enjoy compliant, high-digital-resilience multi-bandwidth options.

Third, fully closed private network with massive transmission capacity: all traffic traverses Google Cloud's global private network, isolating it from public internet threats. It supports 9,000 MTU jumbo frame delivery, ensuring zero congestion and ultra-high-speed transmission for cross-border AI computing and data.
