A settlement stemming from a data breach could spell up to $5,000 for eligible claimants.
According to ClassAction.org , Benworth Capital Partners — a hard money lender f ounded in Coral Gables, Florida, back in 2008 — was hit by a cyberattack in May 2025. The resulting class action lawsuit accused Benworth of failing to adequately protect customers' sensitive information, leaving it wide open during the attack.
The official settlement website states that any United States residents who had their private information compromised by the breach might be eligible for part of the payout. Anyone who submits proper documentation such as receipts that proves direct losses associated with the breach might be entitled to up to $5,000.
Otherwise, claimants are entitled to a cash payment of $50, no proof required. All victims will also receive a year of free credit monitoring; the activation code for said monitoring will be provided on settlement notices and can be activated once the settlement gets final approval.
The deadline to submit a claim — which can be done online at this link or by completing this claim form and mailinging it to the settlement administrator — is Dec. 21, 2026. A final approval hearing will be held on Jan. 5, 2027.
