Back Kucoin DefiLlama Delays Mobile App Launch Due to Phishing Apps on Apple App Store
Odaily Planet Daily reports that 0xngmi, founder of the DeFi data analytics platform DefiLlama, said the team spent months requesting Apple to remove counterfeit phishing apps impersonating DefiLlama from the App Store, delaying the launch of their mobile app until all imitations were fully taken down. 0xngmi noted that after the team downloaded one of the malicious apps and documented a small crypto wallet being drained, Apple removed it within days. In 2024, counterfeit apps impersonating Rabby Wallet and Curve Finance also appeared on the App Store; in November 2023, a fake Ledger Live app on the Microsoft Store stole $588,000 through 38 transactions.
