Every Android user put on red alert as 'significant' threat confirmed, is your phone safe?

Android users must keep an eye out for the latest software patch and update their devices without delay. Google has just released its latest Security Bulletin, which confirms that 129 vulnerabilities have been found and fixed. If that wasn't worrying enough, one of the flaws has been handed the dreaded "zero-day" rating.

That basically means hackers could be aware of the issue and are already exploiting it in the wild. That's why it's so important to hit the download button as soon as possible.

"The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote code execution with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation," Google confirmed.

The first phones to get the patch will be Google's own Pixel devices, with other manufacturers - such as Samsung - expected to release updates in the coming days.

Explaining more the importance of staying updated, Adam Boynton, Senior Enterprise Strategy Manager at Jamf, said: “Android’s March bulletin is a new record of 129 vulnerabilities, and includes a significant Qualcomm zero-day, CVE-2026-21385, which is of particular concern as it’s warned it might be under targeted exploitation.

"The vulnerability is an integer overflow in the Graphics subcomponent that means an attacker cause severe memory corruption allowing them to bypass security controls and gain unauthorised control over the system."

To update your phone, simply head to Settings > System > System update.
