Global Mechanism
Via A/RES/80/16 , the General Assembly endorsed the final report of the open-ended working group on security of and in the use of information and communications technologies as contained in A/80/257 , including the elements for the ' Global Mechanism on developments in the field of ICTs in the context of international security and advancing responsible State behaviour in the use of ICTs '.
The Global Mechanism will begin meeting in 2026 in accordance with the elements agreed in annex C to document A/79/214 and the additional elements agreed in annex I to A/80/257 .
The Chair of the first biennium of the Global Mechanism (2026-2027) is H.E. Ambassador Egriselda López, Permanent Representative of El Salvador to the United Nations.
