Microsoft Halts Windows 11 Update for Dell PCs Due to Intel Driver Issues On July 14, 2026, Microsoft suspended the Windows 11 security update for certain Dell devices following reports of significant stability issues linked to an Intel driver. The affected systems are running Windows 11 versions 24H2 and 25H2, which may experience unexpected shutdowns, overheating, and battery drain. Microsoft has not disclosed the specific models impacted but confirmed that the update is temporarily unavailable while they work with Dell on a resolution. This decision comes after a record number of CVEs were patched in the July Patch Tuesday update, emphasizing the urgency for users to install security updates. Microsoft aims to resolve the issue promptly, but the delay raises concerns about their validation processes.
