The countries of the Western Balkans have the potential to build stronger and more resilient digital systems for the benefit of citizens, through joint action, knowledge exchange and European partnership, the Ministry of Public Administration (MPA) announced.

It is reported that a delegation of Western Balkan countries, led by Montenegro, paid an official visit to the French cyber center Campus Cyber.

The MPA said that it is one of the most important European institutions dedicated to the development of cybersecurity, digital resilience and innovation in the field of information technology.

The delegation was received by the President of Campus Cyber, Geoffrey Celestin-Urbain, who presented the French cyber ecosystem, its organizational structure and operating model.

The visit, it added, provided a comprehensive overview of the French cyber ecosystem, with particular emphasis on the governance system, cooperation between the public and private sectors, as well as key institutional and industrial actors operating in this area.

It is stated that Campus Cyber ​​in France is a central place for innovation and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.

It brings together more than 160 participants, including companies, small and medium-sized enterprises, government institutions, educational institutions and professional associations.

It is added that its mission is to connect the cyber community and create synergy between different actors through four key pillars of action: conferences, training, innovation, and operations.

During the visit, the delegation was presented with the organizational model, strategic goals, and key capacities of this prestigious center.

As stated by the MPA, special emphasis is placed on cooperation, development of professional staff, exchange of knowledge and improvement of the ability to respond to modern cyber threats.

Dukaj, as reported, spoke Montenegro's achieved results in the field of digital transformation and cybersecurity.

He said that in a relatively short period of time, the state has implemented significant reform processes, improved the institutional framework, and set ambitious goals for the further development of the digital society.

"Montenegro has shown that a clear vision, commitment to reforms and strong partnership with international institutions can bring concrete results and accelerate digital transformation," said Dukaj.

He said that the goal remains to build a resilient, secure and modern digital ecosystem in the service of citizens and the economy.

The statement states that the delegation toured the entire Campus Cyber ​​Center complex, where the activities and roles of the most important institutions that form the backbone of the French cybersecurity system were presented.

Special attention, it is added, is dedicated to the work of ANSSI, the national agency responsible for protecting information systems and strengthening the state's cyber resilience, as well as the VIGINUM institution, which is responsible for monitoring and combating foreign digital manipulation and disinformation campaigns.

"The visit to the Campus Cyber ​​Center was an exceptional opportunity to exchange experiences and learn the most advanced European practices in the field of cybersecurity," the MPA said in a statement.

They stated that delegations from the Western Balkan countries had the opportunity to directly observe the most modern models of organizing and managing cybersecurity systems, as well as successful examples of coordination between state institutions, the academic community, and the private sector.

"The experiences presented in Paris further confirm that cybersecurity is one of the strategic issues of contemporary development, and that the Western Balkan countries have the potential, through joint action, knowledge exchange and European partnerships, to build stronger and more resilient digital systems for the benefit of their citizens and economies," the statement said.

The MPA said that this was another significant event within the Cyber ​​Summit in Paris, held from June 1 to 3, which brought together decision-makers, experts and representatives of institutions from around the world with the aim of strengthening international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity.
