Portugal World Id Holders Support Worldcoin Return Ai Innovation

A new survey of almost 20K verified World ID holders in Portugal shows that residents support the return of Worldcoin and feel safe using it. They strongly want to see their country become a global hub for artificial intelligence (AI) innovation as well.

The 48-hour survey, conducted in early June 2024 via World App by Worldcoin contributor Tools for Humanity (TFH), asked verified World ID holders questions related to Worldcoin, AI technology, data privacy and more.

According to the survey, 90% of the more than 19,300 respondents said they support the return of Worldcoin operations to Portugal (7% were unsure).

This may be because more than 3 in 4 respondents (77%) agree that Worldcoin can have a positive impact on their digital interactions (13% were unsure) and 82% agree that technologies such as Worldcoin and World ID are important for distinguishing between humans and bots online (13% were unsure).

Importantly, World ID holders in Portugal also believe Worldcoin is safe, with less than 4% of respondents indicating they do not feel safe using it. They also overwhelmingly agree (88%) that Portugal should strive to be a global hub for AI innovation.

These survey results track similar findings from neighboring Spain, where 87% of the more than 21,000 respondents in a similar survey said they support the return of Worldcoin operations to the country.

The customer survey results in Portugal and Spain also commonalities with recent online surveys in Peru, Mexico and Colombia .

Together, these surveys paint a consistent picture - namely, people globally are looking for ways to distinguish between humans and bots online in the age of AI.
