A pro-Iranian cybercrime group has claimed responsibility for cyberattacks on Chime Financial Inc. and Inc. that knocked the websites of both companies offline.
Chime, a San Francisco-based fintech company, was hit with a distributed-denial-of-service attack on April 1, according to a person familiar with the matter who asked not to be named to internal information.
Customers expressed frustration on social media that they were unable to access services at the time. Chime disclosed the outage on its website but didn’t the reason why.
