Russia Reports 'Moscow Exchange Crypto Trading' Scam; Phishing Sites Steal Funds and Data

ME News reports that on June 21 (UTC+8), the platform "Moshelovka" revealed that scammers are impersonating authorized brokers of the Moscow Exchange on social media, tricking users into clicking phishing links under the pretext of a “cryptocurrency test trading channel” to steal funds and personal information. The Moscow Exchange emphasized that all official transactions must be conducted through licensed brokers, and there are no exclusive cryptocurrency purchasing channels available to general users. According to data from the Russian IT company “Shard,” Russian users suffered approximately 234 million rubles in losses due to cryptocurrency phishing in 2025, accounting for 62% of total cryptocurrency asset losses that year.
