The company does not appear to have publicly addressed its internal review of Orgenergostroy or its consideration of terminating Orgenergostroy's role on the Paks II project.

The revelations come as Hungary’s newly elected Prime Minister Péter Magyar undertakes a review of the Paks II nuclear plant, questioning its connections to Russia and its estimated price tag of €12.5 billion.

They follow earlier reporting from POLITICO last month revealing allegations of Rosatom’s “negligence” building a nuclear facility in Egypt and major scheduling delays to the Paks II completion date . In each case, Rosatom denied wrongdoing and reiterated its professional conduct, while the Kremlin openly accused POLITICO of being a front for the “Western political elite.”

The documents also show that at least one person in Rosatom had concerns the company’s ability to deliver on projects around the globe.

“Putin stated — and emphasized several times — that ‘Russia is 100% fulfilling ALL contractual obligations regarding the construction of nuclear power plants abroad’????” said a Rosatom manager based in Russia, in an email to a outside of the company. “Yet they blew it with Turkey, Egypt, and Bangladesh... Deadlines have slipped everywhere.”

The manager, who POLITICO is not naming because of risks of retribution against them for their inflammatory the Kremlin, went on to accuse Putin of being personally responsible for the problems in their company.

“This just goes to show once again that he’s a BULLSHITTER,” they said, describing the leader of Russia. “And the worst part [...] is that the entire chain of command below him is doing the exact same thing, believe me... We can really feel it here.”
