Samsung's September 2026 Update Live for Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 in the US

Samsung’s latest monthly security update is now available for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in the US. After the initial release in Korea last week , the September 2026 security patch gradually expanded to more markets and has now reached stateside. Users can download the update from the Settings app and protect their shiny new foldable from newly discovered vulnerabilities.

Samsung released the September 2026 security patch late last week, with its latest foldables leading the line. As usual, the update first arrived in South Korea. But it didn’t take long for the rollout to expand to the US. Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 in the States can now install the new patch. The new update carries the firmware build version AZI5, although it may vary by region, model, and carrier variant.

To check for updates on your Galaxy, open the Settings app and go to Software update. Now, hit the Check for updates button at the bottom of the screen. If an update shows up, you may proceed to download it. The device will automatically install the package in the background. You can simply restart your phone at your convenience to complete the process.

Note that Samsung rolls out updates in stages, so it may take some time before the September patch appears on every Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 device and carrier variant. If there’s no update today, wait a few days and check again.

Samsung has already revealed that the September 2026 security patch addresses a total of 90 security vulnerabilities across Galaxy devices . That includes Android-related fixes as well as vulnerabilities specific to Samsung’s software. Samsung’s official security bulletin lists several critical Android vulnerabilities alongside 31 Samsung-specific issues. There are no major new features expected with this release.
