Back Vietnam.Vn Security vulnerabilities in South Korean banking systems.
VTV.vn - South Korea issued 17 warnings the risk of cyberattacks before bank customer data was stolen, revealing vulnerabilities in its security measures.
Regarding the series of cyberattacks on several South Korean financial institutions, the South Korean Financial Supervisory Service stated that it had issued as many as 17 warnings before commercial banks in the country were attacked by hackers, resulting in data leaks.
Specifically, 17 warning notices have been sent to the entire banking sector since mid-August, requesting an urgent review due to the detection of signs of network intrusion.
However, a month after the initial warning, customer data was still being stolen as hackers repeatedly tried numerous usernames and passwords.
Experts believe the incident could have been completely prevented if banks had strictly followed recommendations to limit employee accounts and implement multi-factor authentication.
