Satellite images of Engels-2 airbase confirm the destruction of a Russian Tu-95MS strategic bomber after a strike by the Security Service of Ukraine. This was reported on the social network X by the satellite analytics project AviVector.
AviVector clarified that the bomber was struck on the night of July 16.

In a satellite image taken on July 19 at 05:10 UTC, AviVector analysts marked a damaged Tu-95MS to another intact bomber of the same type.
It is noted that two Tu-95MS were at Engels-2 airbase for a long time, where they were used for rotation, underwent maintenance, and performed training flights.
Earlier, on July 17, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a Tu-95 strategic bomber, which Russia used for missile strikes on Ukraine, was destroyed at the Engels military airfield in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation.
