Back Kucoin Symbiosis Recovers 15 BTC After Bitcoin Bridge Exploit, Offers 20% Bounty
PANews, September 12: The cross-chain protocol Symbiosis has disclosed that on September 11, an attacker exploited a vulnerability in the Bitcoin Bridge. The BTC cross-chain routing has been temporarily suspended, while other routes—including EVM chains, TRON, TON, and components such as Octopools—are operating normally and unaffected. The team has recovered approximately 15 BTC and transferred them to a multisig wallet under team control. Symbiosis has offered a bug bounty to the attacker, proposing a 20% return of the stolen funds, valid until September 13. After this deadline, anyone providing information that assists in recovering the funds will receive an equivalent 20% reward. The final loss amount is still being calculated and will be disclosed in a future update.
