The British Embassy thanks Vietnam after the crackdown on Xoi Lac TV.

On May 19th, the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department (A05, Ministry of Public Security ) announced that the Embassy of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland in Vietnam had sent a letter of thanks to Vietnamese authorities for the successful crackdown on and dismantling of the Xoi Lac TV network.

According to the Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department, in recent times, in response to the complex developments in digital copyright infringement, Vietnamese authorities have proactively identified the methods and tactics of perpetrators; and simultaneously implemented many measures to detect, prevent, and strictly handle acts of copyright and related rights infringement in the digital environment.

In particular, the dismantling of the Xoi Lac TV network is considered a testament to the proactive, decisive spirit and law enforcement capabilities of Vietnamese authorities in dealing with organized copyright infringements operating online and across borders.

On May 6, 2026, the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Vietnam sent a letter of thanks, acknowledging and appreciating the efforts of Vietnamese authorities in handling the incident.

According to the letter, the results of the investigation and dismantling of the Xoi Lac TV network contribute to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of copyright holders, businesses providing copyrighted content services, and legitimate users of the service.

The Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department believes that the recognition from the British Embassy is significant in the context of online copyright infringement becoming a common global challenge, requiring close coordination between law enforcement agencies, diplomatic missions, and cross-border organizations and individuals.

This also shows that Vietnam's efforts in protecting digital copyrights have been positively evaluated and appreciated by international partners, thereby contributing to affirming Vietnam's image as a proactive and responsible country in enforcing intellectual property laws in cyberspace.

In the coming period, in order to effectively implement Prime Minister 's Directive No. 38/CD-TTg dated May 5, 2026, on combating, preventing, and handling acts of intellectual property infringement, Vietnamese authorities will continue to strengthen the detection and handling of copyright violations in cyberspace; and at the same time, promote international cooperation, information sharing, and coordination in verifying infringing acts.

The Cyber ​​Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department also requested diplomatic missions, rights holders, and relevant organizations and individuals to continue coordinating with Vietnamese law enforcement agencies to promptly detect, prevent, and handle acts of intellectual property infringement, contributing to building a safe, healthy, and transparent cyberspace.
