Cybercriminal group ShinyHunters has claimed another data breach , this time hitting the many drivers on the roads along the east coast.
"DAVID", the online platform for the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) database, was targeted by the threat actor, who claims to have stolen records belonging to 200,000 drivers in the US state.
The Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) operates DAVID – expanded as Driver and Vehicle Information Database – to help law enforcement officials find details related to a particular driver.
On 7 September 2026, ShinyHunters added FLHSMV to its data leak site saying: “ us, you know how. Or we will release the files”.

An early version of Anthropic ’s Claude Opus 4.6 was involved in a previously undisclosed AI hacking incident , the company says.
In a recent blog post titled “An alignment assessment of recent cybersecurity incidents”, AI giant Anthropic dissects an incident which occurred in January 2026, during its internal cybersecurity evaluations.
The blog was released on 9 September 2026, the same day when Jacob Coxon , an AI researcher at Anthropic, quit the company, saying that frontier AI firms are “racing to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives”.
“I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic,” Jacob writes in a post on X. “Neither company is acting responsibly.”
How a Spoofed GOP Website Redirected Users to Epstein Files
Ahead of the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) 2026 midterm convention on 9-10 September 2026 in Dallas, a fake website was spotted which redirects users to a peculiar page in the US Department of Justice (DOJ) – the Epstein files.
This imposter website gopdallas2026.com was the first one that came up when searching for the upcoming GOP convention, as a Daily Mail article notes.
It therefore ranked much higher than the RNC’s official event website GOPConvention.com, before the imposter site was taken private on Friday.
Yet, the domain still remains active and users are still being redirected to the DOJ page showcasing the files released under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

Google Threat Intelligence Group (GTIG) has released its AI Threat Tracker report for Q3 of 2026 and findings reveal the evolution of adversarial AI from simple prompting closer to autonomy.

“At this point, we can assume that all threat actors are using AI in some capacity and their operations have benefited,” says John Hultquist , Chief Analyst at Google Threat Intelligence Group.
“Like everyone else, we’re concerned the vulnerability problem, but AI is being applied to several other areas and it will be especially challenging as it is applied agentically, creating a scaled, faster adversary.”
