Individuals who received a notice stating the May 2024 Thompson Coburn data breach compromised their personal information may be eligible to claim up to $5,000 and/or credit monitoring from a class action settlement .
Thompson Coburn LLP agreed to pay $7,500,000 to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming a targeted cyberattack exposed sensitive personal data.
To be eligible for compensation, class members must meet the following criteria:

In addition, all class members may claim three years of medical data monitoring from CyEx Medical Shield Total. This includes medical identity theft insurance and monitoring services.
Class members can file a claim online or download, print and complete a PDF claim form and mail it to the settlement administrator. The claim deadline is July 23, 2026.

The settlement administrator already mailed enrollment codes for medical credit monitoring to class members. They can activate them after final settlement approval.

The settlement administrator will issue payments no later than 60 days after the court resolves any appeals and grants final approval of the settlement.
The class action lawsuit alleged Thompson Coburn LLP failed to adequately protect sensitive personal information during a targeted cyberattack in May 2024. The plaintiffs claimed an unauthorized party accessed files containing names, dates of birth, health information, Social Security numbers and other data.
Thompson Coburn denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid the costs and risks of continued litigation.
