Three major cyber security breaches reported already this year
The National Cyber Security Centre's most recent report for the first quarter of this year has highlighted that there were three incidents likely to impact key sensitive date or disrupt essential services.
During that time patients were caught up in the Manage My Health and MediMap data breaches - although there is no confirmation these are security breaches referred to.
In the last three months there was a third data breach involving a healthcare company - IntraCare, which specialises in "image-guided precision medical diagnostics and interventions."
The last time any so-called "Category 2 highly significant incidents " were reported was four years ago.
The incidents in the last quarter were more serious and involved higher losses.
