Local12 • June 22, 2026

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Time is running out to file a claim in Krispy Kreme's $1.6 million settlement.

According to USA Today, the deadline to file a claim in the settlement is Monday, June 22.

The settlement stems from a class-action lawsuit alleging Krispy Kreme failed to prevent a data breach in November 2024.

Court documents allege that personal information, including Social Security numbers and financial account access information, was compromised in the breach. Krispy Kreme said it became aware of suspicious activity on its systems on Nov. 29, 2024, and later confirmed that cybercriminals had accessed and stolen personal information from 161,676 current and former employees.

Eligible class members may receive a cash payment of up to $75 under the settlement, though the amount could vary depending on the number of claims submitted.

Those who experienced documented losses related to fraud, identity theft or other qualifying expenses may be eligible for reimbursement of up to $3,500. Supporting documentation, such as receipts, emails or phone records, must be submitted with the claim form.

Class members who do not file a claim will still be eligible to receive one year of credit monitoring. According to the settlement website, eligible individuals should have received an activation code in their postcard notice.

Krispy Kreme agreed to the settlement while denying any wrongdoing or liability. The settlement class includes U.S. residents who were notified that their personal information may have been compromised in the data breach.

Class members may submit a claim online through the settlement website or by mailing a completed claim form to the settlement administrator at the address listed on the form. Claim forms also can be requested by calling 877-239-1879.

Additional information is available on the settlement website.
