Emacs could be made to crash or expose sensitive information if it opened a specially crafted file. Software Description: - emacs: GNU Emacs editor Details: It was discovered that Emacs improperly handled specially crafted SVG images, resulting in memory corruption. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause Emacs to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or obtain sensitive information.

It was discovered that Emacs improperly handled specially crafted SVG

images, resulting in memory corruption. An attacker could possibly use

this issue to cause Emacs to crash, resulting in a denial of service, or

obtain sensitive information.

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following package versions: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS emacs 1:30.2+1-2ubuntu1+esm1 Available with Ubuntu Pro Ubuntu 24.04 LTS emacs 1:29.3+1-1ubuntu2+esm4 Available with Ubuntu Pro In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
