Seventh Arrest in Iran-Linked Terror Plot Near UK US Air Base On October 6, 2026, British police arrested a 22-year-old man in London on suspicion of a terror offense related to a security incident at RAF Fairford, a US-run military air base. This arrest is the seventh linked to a suspected plot against the base, which has been used for US bombers targeting Iran amid ongoing conflict. Five British men were previously detained on September 27 after suspicious vehicles were reported near the base, with police discovering gasoline in three vans but no explosives. All six men arrested earlier have been released on bail while investigations continue. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham indicated strong indications of Iranian involvement, which Iran has denied. The US moved its bombers from the base shortly before the latest arrest, citing threats linked to Iran. Counter Terrorism Policing continues to explore multiple lines of inquiry. 16 sources 45
