Back En.Defence-Ua Ukraine's Iron Brigade Shows a Cord-Based Anti-Drone System in Combat (Video)
YoYo is a compact module mounted beneath a multicopter. When approaching an enemy drone, it deploys a cord with a weighted end.
The cord gets caught in the UAV’s propellers, winds around them, and stops them from spinning. In the released footage, the russian Mavic crashes after being intercepted this way.
The Iron Brigade said this was the first time it had shown the system being used in actual combat.
The same combat footage compilation also featured other operations involving unmanned systems.
A heavy Vampire hexacopter struck a russian ammunition cache near Dvorichanske in the Kharkiv region.
An FPV drone operated by the Crazy Cats group struck a russian assault soldier.
Meanwhile, the Iron Birds battery, part of the brigade's anti-aircraft missile battalion, showed the interception of a russian Knyaz Veshchiy Oleg reconnaissance UAV, a Lancet loitering munition, and an Italmas strike drone.
