VeraBank, Inc., which is headquartered in Henderson, Texas and has branches across eastern Texas, has revealed a data breach involving its vendor, Marquis Software Solutions . The data breach was identified on August 14, 2025, when Marquis discovered unauthorized access to its network. Marquis, which provided customer communication and data analysis services to VeraBank, launched an investigation with the help of cybersecurity experts and notified law enforcement. The breach was limited to Marquis’s environment, and VeraBank's own systems were not impacted.
Following the breach, a review was conducted to identify affected customers, and VeraBank began to send data breach notices on December 23, 2025.
The VeraBank data breach reportedly exposed the personal information of 37,318 individuals . According to a report provided to the Texas Attorney General's Office , names, Social Security numbers and other personal information may have been compromised.
