Back Kttc Winona County responding to ransomware incident affecting computer network
WINONA, Minn. (KTTC) – Winona County says it has identified and responded to a ransomware incident affecting its computer network.
The county noted that upon discovery, it initiated an investigation to assess the scope and impact of the incident. It is working closely with a third-party cybersecurity and data forensics-experts, as well as local, state and federal law enforcement.
The IT Department with Winona County, and the cybersecurity team, are actively testing and analyzing its systems. The county added that emergency services are still operational.
Lastly, Winona County says it will provide an update when more information becomes available, and thanks everyone for their patience as it implements business continuity measures.
