In 2024, 62.5% of Filipinos aged 10 and older using ICT devices experienced cybersecurity incidents, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority. This equates to approximately 24.28 million individuals affected. The most prevalent threat was SMS fraud, impacting 57.1% of victims, followed by hacking (7.8%), phishing (6.1%), and cyberbullying (1.1%). Awareness of cybersecurity issues remains low, with only 33.4% of the population aware of such risks. Awareness was highest in urban areas and among those with higher education levels. The age group most affected by incidents was 25 to 34 years, with an incidence rate of 68%. Despite the high number of incidents, only 1.9% of victims reported them to authorities.
