On May 29, 2026, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced Andhra Pradesh's goal to become a global hub for green energy, digital transformation, and cybersecurity. During a review of the power sector, he emphasized the need for robust infrastructure to support renewable energy projects and data centers. The state has proposed investments of approximately Rs 22,000 crore under the Green Energy Corridor Phase-III, aiming to connect 18 GW of green energy to the grid. This includes plans for 11 GW of solar power and 7 GW of pumped storage projects. Naidu highlighted the importance of integrating cybersecurity measures into these developments to protect critical infrastructure. The government is also focused on solarizing government buildings and establishing EV charging stations. The initiatives are expected to significantly reduce electricity costs and enhance investment opportunities in the state.
