Apple Launches Digital ID for U.S. Passports in Apple Wallet

Apple has introduced a Digital ID feature that allows U.S. passport holders to store their passports in Apple Wallet for use at TSA checkpoints across more than 250 airports. This feature is available for iPhone and Apple Watch users in select states and Puerto Rico, with plans for further expansion. The Digital ID was announced as part of the iOS 26 release and aims to enhance the convenience and security of presenting identification during domestic travel.
