A cyber-espionage campaign attributed to the China-linked threat actor UAT-7290 has been targeting high-value telecommunications infrastructure in South Asia since at least 2022. Cisco Talos disclosed the ongoing activity, which aims to gain persistent access to strategically significant networks. Recently, UAT-7290 has also expanded its targeting to Southeastern Europe.
