Commvault and TIME have announced the launch of the inaugural CISO of the Year Award to recognize chief information security officers (CISOs) who are redefining cyber resilience amidst increasing cyber threats. The award aims to spotlight security leaders who not only defend against cyber threats but also transform cybersecurity into a driver of operational strength and trust. Nominations for the award opened on March 23, 2026, and will be accepted until June 20, 2026. The judging panel will evaluate nominees based on their leadership in Resilience Operations (ResOps), which integrates security, operations, and infrastructure teams. Bill O'Connell, Chief Security Officer at Commvault, emphasized the evolving role of CISOs in the face of sophisticated cyber threats. The finalists will be announced in July 2026, with the winner revealed in September 2026.
