Cyber Threat Surge in Africa: Google.org Launches Resilience Project

In early 2026, Google.org and other partners announced a three-year resilience project to enhance cybersecurity in Africa. The initiative comes in response to alarming statistics, including 2.54 billion cyber threat incidents reported in Kenya during a single quarter of 2025 and approximately 4,700 attempted attacks on Nigerian organizations. This project aims to address the growing cybersecurity challenges faced by these nations.
