Cybersecurity in Malaysia is evolving into a shared responsibility beyond technology experts, emphasized by NSC Chief Datuk Raja Nurshirwan Zainal Abidin. He highlighted the importance of community involvement in safeguarding cyberspace during the My Cyber Hero 2026 event. The government is implementing the Cybersecurity Act 2024 and the Malaysia Cyber Security Strategy (MCSS) 2025-2030 to enhance digital safety. Concurrently, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stressed the need for faster development of local technological capabilities to counter complex cyber threats. He noted that cybersecurity is intertwined with national security and economic stability. The My Cyber Hero initiative aims to educate students on cybersecurity, promoting a culture of responsibility and awareness among the younger generation. The competition featured 32 teams from various schools, showcasing the commitment to building a digitally literate society.
