The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Cybersecurity, Energy Security, and Emergency Response (CESER) announced the recipients of the Securing Energy Technology ResiliencY (SENTRY) awards on September 15, 2026. The initiative aims to enhance the security and resilience of U.S. energy infrastructure by addressing challenges in energy risk quantification, industrial control system cybersecurity, decentralized asset management system cybersecurity, and counter-drone capabilities. Three startups—Frenos, Raptor Dynamix, and Bastazo—received funding. Frenos is developing an automated adversary emulation framework that integrates adversarial AI with energy sector threat intelligence. Raptor Dynamix is working on Grid Guardian, a counter-drone system for critical energy infrastructure. Bastazo is creating a Cyber-Informed Engineering Risk Quantification Framework to connect cybersecurity posture with operational impacts using AI-driven analytics. This project is managed by ConnectWerx in partnership with the DOE.
