The Duplin County Sheriff's Office has issued a warning about a flash drive scam that can install malware on computers. Scammers are leaving USB drives in public spaces, such as parking lots and coffee shops, hoping individuals will plug them in to identify the owner, which can lead to malware or ransomware installation. Reports indicate that some of these drives have also been mailed to individuals disguised as official communications.
