Bashayer AlSalami, an Emirati cybersecurity researcher, has developed Deepy, an AI platform aimed at detecting deepfakes and verifying digital content authenticity. The platform emerged from her Master's research at Zayed University, addressing the growing threat of manipulated media that can mislead governments, businesses, and individuals. Deepy analyzes metadata, visual inconsistencies, and audio characteristics to identify signs of manipulation. It also searches for AI-generated digital fingerprints, providing users with a report on the likelihood of content manipulation.
