As AI technology evolves, cybersecurity risks are increasing, with 31% of UK organizations reporting AI-related incidents in the past two years. A significant 44% of those incidents involved sensitive data being entered into AI tools. Despite the risks, 92% of organizations are using AI beyond pilot stages, leading to new challenges like AI-powered phishing and automated attacks. European startups are responding by developing innovative solutions, such as Cytix, which raised €6 million to address risks from rapid software changes, and Escape, which raised €15.4 million for AI-driven offensive security. Exein, an Italian startup, has reached unicorn status with €234 million in funding to protect connected devices and AI infrastructure. These startups aim to enhance security measures as AI becomes integral to software development and operations.
