Expel has announced the expansion of its Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platform to cover the full AI attack surface, addressing risks from attackers using AI, employee misuse, and vulnerabilities within AI systems. This solution integrates AI-related activity into existing detection workflows across various environments, including identity, cloud, and network systems. Expel's approach emphasizes human oversight in threat evaluation, with AI assisting but not replacing human analysts. The company has mapped its AI detections to the MITRE ATLAS framework, covering 13 of its 16 tactics. The launch includes an integration with Anthropic's Claude Compliance API to enhance detection capabilities. Expel aims to provide organizations with a more comprehensive understanding of AI-related threats without requiring additional resources.
