The rapid growth of internet access has led to higher incidents of phishing, identity theft, and online scams targeting young users. Despite being tech-savvy, many lack awareness of safe online practices, contributing to their victimization. Some Gen Z individuals are also engaging in cyber offenses, driven by curiosity and peer pressure. The Bangladeshi government has implemented legal frameworks like the ICT Act of 2006 and the Cyber Security Ordinance of 2025 to combat these issues. However, challenges remain, particularly regarding the lack of awareness about cyber laws among young users. This situation highlights the urgent need for improved cybersecurity education and awareness programs.
