On September 10, 2026, an international alliance to combat telecom and cyber fraud was established in Lianyungang, China. The inaugural conference was attended by representatives from 46 founding countries, 34 observer countries, and four international organizations, including the UN and INTERPOL. The alliance aims to enhance cooperation among law enforcement agencies to tackle transnational fraud and related crimes. Vietnam, as the first Southeast Asian country to ratify the UN Convention against Cybercrime, played a significant role in promoting this initiative. The conference resulted in a Joint Declaration emphasizing the need for joint responses to cybercrime. The alliance seeks to conduct joint investigations, strengthen capacities, and expand training among member countries. This initiative is seen as a crucial step in safeguarding global public security against the rising threat of cyber fraud.
