On May 11, 2026, the Cyberagentur and the German Navy initiated the MARLIN Challenge to seek innovative solutions for secure maritime communication. The competition targets startups, SMEs, research institutions, and universities from EU and NATO countries, with a submission deadline of July 2, 2026. Participants will develop and test new technical solutions under realistic conditions, focusing on maritime, communications, and security technologies. The challenge is structured in multiple phases, including proposal submissions, technical validation, and a demo week. Up to six teams will be selected to advance to the final phase, where their solutions will be tested in a navy sandbox.
