Malaysian Man Jailed for Creating Malware Scam Tutorials

Cheoh Hai Beng, a 49-year-old Malaysian, was sentenced for producing at least 20 videos instructing others on how to use malware to scam Singaporeans. The criminal syndicate he was part of resulted in 129 victims losing a total of S$3.2 million (US$2.5 million) due to unauthorized bank transfers facilitated by the malware. This case marks the first prosecution of someone teaching malware usage in Singapore.
