In the third quarter of 2025, New Zealand's National Cyber Security Centre reported direct financial losses from cyber incidents totaling NZ$12.4 million, more than double the NZ$5.7 million from the same period in 2024. The increase is attributed to a small number of high-value cases involving unauthorized or falsified money transfers, with the agency receiving 1,249 incident reports during this timeframe.
