The National Savings & Investments (NS&I) is experiencing significant challenges with its technology transformation project, which is £1.4 billion over budget and four years behind schedule. Chief executive Dax Harkins informed MPs that the project is outside HM Treasury's spending limits and may require further contract extensions with the current supplier, Atos, whose contract is set to end in 2028.
