Russia's national postal service, Russian Post, has resumed mail deliveries to North Korea after a six-year suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The service, which restarted with package deliveries in June 2025, now includes letters, postcards, and materials for the visually impaired. Mail weighing up to 20 kilograms will be transported from Moscow to Vladivostok and then to Pyongyang via a North Korean airline. Russian Post CEO Mikhail Volkov emphasized North Korea as an important strategic partner. This restoration follows the resumption of mail services to the United States earlier in 2026 after a suspension linked to the Ukraine conflict. The resumption of postal services highlights ongoing diplomatic and logistical ties between Russia and North Korea.
