Ukrainian Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets revealed that Russia employs 695 forms of torture against Ukrainian prisoners of war, resulting in 406 deaths. The reported abuses include physical and psychological torture, sexual violence, and inhumane detention conditions. Lubinets highlighted specific torture methods such as electric shocks and forced standing for extended periods. The systematic nature of these abuses has been documented in 860 cases of improper detention. International partners have identified 29 detention sites, with 186 locations verified by Ukrainian intelligence. Lubinets criticized the weak international response and the lack of attendance from the International Committee of the Red Cross at the presentation of these findings. He emphasized the need for stronger international action against these violations.
